Welcome to Free Backing Tracks by Dylan Adams!

These jam tracks are 100% recorded and mixed by me in Logic Pro X. The guitars and bass are real instruments played by me, with no quantizing or “cleaning up.” The keyboards are Logic MIDI software instrument patches played by me, but often edited/quantized in the piano roll to fix my sloppy playing. The drums are a Logic MIDI software instrument kit, and I program all of the drum grooves 100% custom for each backing track (i.e. I don’t use pre-recorded drum loops). My mixing skills aren’t the best, but I try.

Most of the tracks are simply one or two 8-bar, 12-bar, 16-bar, or 32-bar segments that loop continuously for 5-10 minutes. In other words, they’re mostly just “solo section only” vamps/repeating chord progressions that don’t have a real song form. One day I may put in the time to make complete full-song backing tracks, but for now these should have you covered if you’re just looking for something to jam along with.

My plan is to upload tracks along with my Instagram reels and Youtube performance videos, plus some extra bonus tracks as well, so be sure to check back every now and then to see what new ones show up here. Feel free to download them to your computer/phone and use them in your videos!
